So How Does AI Work?
Using the AI apps made me curious about what's going on under the hood. These cards explain the core concepts that I learnt but in plain English, simplifying the jargon.
What is a Context Window?
You know that moment when you are deep in conversation with an AI, and suddenly it replies like you just met? It forgets your older instructions. You want to scream, “I told you this couple of hours ago!” That is not the AI trying to be rude. That is the context window running out.
What's an LLM?
The three letters that show up on LinkedIn, in most presentations, and in every AI founders’ pitch decks! Here is a look at LLM in simple English. An LLM, or Large Language Model, is a system trained on massive amounts of text to learn patterns in human language, so it can predict and generate words the way a human would.
What is Temperature?
Ask AI the same question twice and get two completely different answers. That is not a bug. That is temperature doing its thing.
Google or AI, well both!
Google is where you go when you need the internet. AI is where you go when you need assistance.
What is a prompt?
The most powerful part of AI is often the most ignored. You can tell AI exactly what you want.
What is a token?
Token is one of those words that shows up everywhere in AI, usually with zero explanation and maximum confidence.
What even is AI?
Everyone’s talking about it. Half think it’s magic, half think it’ll end humanity. From what I have learnt, the truth is much more boring but much more useful.
What's a "wrapper" and why does it matter?
You've seen 100 AI tools that all seem the same. They're probably wrappers. Not all wrappers are bad. Some are useful, some are unnecessary. The trick is knowing which is which.
